This Sunday me and my parents went to the Concert Gebouw Orchestra to enjoy one of the last recitals of Alfred Brendel the pianist. My father became 80 in January and this was my present to him.
It was a very nice experience and Brendel still was in great form, at age 77, so it became a memorable…
We're out
After 3 rather good games, in the quarter final we lost from Russia. It could have been even a bigger defeat, after extension now it was 1-3. Russia will now play Spain (won from Italy) in the Semi-finals. The other semi-final will be Germany (won from Portugal)-Turkey (won from Croatia).

Euro2008, the European Soccer Cup
This weekend Euro2008 started and today the Dutch are playing their first match in the extremely difficult group with Italy, France and Romania.
Tonight at 20.45 they start against Italy, which actually is the reigning world-champion, so it will be tough.

I have not been able to update the site more frequently the last two weeks, was too busy or was doing other stuff. Will spend some more time on updating my upcoming visit to New Zealand instead of the standard weblog.

That was a busy weekend
It is not so often I have my nephew over for a long weekend. He is now six years old, so rather demanding. It was a beautiful weekend, temperatures 25-27 degrees Celsius, almost too hot, but in "het Amsterdamse Bos" with the small lake and many canoes and water bikes a perfect treat.
